Odds and Ends

• I think I'm getting more caught up on sleep.
• I got a humidifier to see if it would help me sleep. I'm not sure yet, but it spits out pretty fog.
• I tried reserving a copy of Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go at the Somerville Main Library. It's been "IN TRANSIT" for more than two weeks now, and the hold's set to expire today. You would think it wouldn't take that long....
• My calendar reminds me it's 228 Peace Memorial Day. I have yet to quiz my parents on this.
• My hard drive at work decided to panic yesterday and corrupt a dozen files. So that explains why I couldn't build.... Today is a day of data recovery! Yay!
• I decided I'm going to run up 41 stories for the American Lung Association next weekend. The reality hasn't sunk in yet... maybe my knees won't scream in terror :-)

Why is your hold set to expire; did you set a particularly short "deliver or cancel by" date?

I would call the library and ask them what's up.

I did set the "cancel by" date :-) The issue was that there was a chance that my book club was going to pick a different reading during Monday's meeting, and if that had happened I didn't want the book to get held if it hadn't gotten successfully reserved by today.

There seems to be another copy of it at the College Ave branch though, so I might just go there sometime tomorrow and see if I can snarf it.

As long as you don't run *down*, I think your knees should probably be ok.

I want so sign up, too, but I'm getting annoyed at how much stuff I have to fill out.

I think that amount of paperwork is par for the course, judging from the other charity fundraisers (okay, maybe one) that I've seen. If I read the page correctly, the good part is that if you have enter a username, you might be able to sign up for it again next year with less hassle.
