Challah is tasty. Frozen caramelized onions are easy to prepare and great for flavoring. Combine them with chicken sausages that have bits of fennel seeds, and that makes one sweet lunch. Not to mention the lotus roots and lokiect's basil, or the baby-corn-carrots-and-peas mix.
Yes, it has lots of holes and is usually sliced maybe an 1/8 inch thick. I got them pre-sliced and frozen from a local Asian grocery, threw them in with the rest of my frozen vegetables, and let them steam until the other vegetables were done. I'm under the impression there's no wrong way to cook them :-)
