So here I am, safely at my parents' home in Taiwan, managing to stay awake even when my body thinks it should really be 4:30am.
A few highlights of my trip thus far:
A few highlights of my trip thus far:
- On the leg between Boston and Los Angeles, I was surrounded by small children wailing and barely pubescent boys arguing loudly. Thank goodness this only lasted six hours, which was about a quarter of my trip.
- China Airlines had issues with crowd control at LAX. When I entered the international terminal, all I could see was a sea of people, none of whom seemed to know what line they were in or which way the line was moving. After prodding some official-looking people a few times, I finally got into a slow-moving line, but fortunately when my turn came the clerk was remarkably fast at processing my ticket and giving me a boarding pass.
- On the other hand, China Airlines also has entertainment-on-demand. So on my flight to Taipei, I managed to see both Collateral and Bourne Supremacy (both of which I failed to see in the theaters this summer--
lokiect reserves mocking rights).
- I <heart> American Airlines; they told me they'd route my luggage to Taipei so I didn't have to pick it up and check it back in in Los Angeles. But they lied. So China Airlines is retrieving it from LAX and delivering my suitcase here free of charge.
- I got my teeth checked. I got some cavities filled. Er, yay....
