NPR Nostalgia
Nov. 18th, 2004 12:45 pmThis morning, I read in the Boston Globe that Bob Edwards, the former news anchor of NPR's Morning Edition for nearly 25 years, had been ousted back in June. I almost feel like I live under a rock for not noticing. :)
I still remember the tunes that were (are?) the themes of Morning Edition and Marketplace, from back when I listened to the radio shows every day in high school. In particular, the Marketplace theme segued really nicely into General Electric's jingle when the announcer listed off their sponsors. When GE stopped sponsoring Marketplace, I felt like its theme became bland and was missing the crucial climax.
Ah, if there were a way of transcribing music into journals. It seems that most of the free music transcription software out there aren't particularly user-friendly. Or perhaps I haven't gone looking in a while....
