Summer yet not

I had a series of random dreams last night, but could only remember two of them in any detail: in one, [livejournal.com profile] damselfrog sat next to her flock of younger siblings and was telling us how they needed to be weaned off the evil television. In the other, I helped [livejournal.com profile] lokiect look for a bug she was working on, and discovered that it was the etched text on the ends of canned fruit (peaches and maraschino cherries in syrup).

Speaking of which, it will be summer soon, and that means peach season! Do we get peaches for 99 cents a pound this year? At a party I went to Saturday, there was a movie playing in the background that involved shag carpeting, bad hair, and apples for 15 cents a pound! How did apples get so expensive now?

Inflation?

maybe the movie was in California :)

$0.78/lb is on the low end but definitely reasonable here. of course, I do live near the grocery store of total insanity, which might explain things...

When peach season is upon us, you must go to a farmer's market. The Davis Square farmer's market is open on Wednesdays from noon until 6pm. Kimball's fruit farm is usually there, and their fruit is delicious.
