Rice porridge
Advantages: tasty and warms you up.
Disadvantages: takes time, and now Ian's rice cooker is covered in rice goo.
I wonder if washing the rice more helps. I also noticed my rice cooker's lid doesn't have a hole to vent the steam....

The rice cooker may get easier to clean if you run it again with just water and no rice...
Then again, I'm just a dumb tiger who cooks her rice in a metal pan.

I should learn to cook rice on the stovetop. I think my previous attempts at doing this myself have failed. Then again I've made 30 cups of rice on the stovetop and it turned out beautifully (having followed someone else's instructions of course).

It's easiest on an electric stove because the burner retains heat. Put 2 parts water and one part white rice in a pan. Bring to a boil. Shut the burner off, cover the pan, and leave the pan on the burner for 15 min before serving. (This takes about thirty minutes for brown rice, and I don't get perfect results. Try turning the heat down as far as you can, instead of off.)
