I had some scallion pancakes from Super 88, but they were mostly cake and not much scallion. I wonder if (short of my making them from scratch) I can find some that have a much higher scallion-to-pancake ratio. Hmm....
I hate that! I've always liked the idea of scallion pancakes, but I've seldom liked the reality, because it's just a bunch of greasy gummy fried, and a very small amount of scallion. I want Plato's Ideal Forms Chinese Restaurant.
I like the ones at Mary's. Actually, I like them in general (though some are more yummy and scallion-y than others), but at Mary's you get the yummy sauce...
I haven't seen very scalliony stuff anywhere... the kind i get is thin and kind of scalliony, but it's still not, you know, *laden* with scallions. There're just a reasonable amount (5-6?) in each bite...
