The IDE-to-SATA is relatively recent (in the last 3 years) and is also going to mess me up with my new computer! damn. Video cards have also recently (in the last 2 years) switched standards from AGP to PCIe, which was tough last year when I was upgrading my video card. RAM, however, has remained the same I think.

I think I'll just try to transfer stuff over ethernet or something, with Windows sharing.
