Bad T Karma

Last night I decided to take the subway to ET, so I hopped on the Red Line at Davis Square and got off at Park Street. After I went up the stairs to the platform of westbound Green Line trains, I saw the C trolley pull away, so I thought, "no worries, there'll be another B or C trolley coming soon." And indeed there was--after a D and an E passed by, a B trolley came rolling in, and I figured all was well when I stepped on board.

But then when we hit Arlington, the trolley stopped, and the conductor announced that there was a "medical emergency" at the Copley station, so we would be standing by momentarily. It turns out that "momentarily" was more like 30 minutes. Eventually the conductor closed the doors, and we were on our way out onto Comm Ave; since the Green Line was so backed up, the train had to run express to Harvard Ave after we reached the BU West stop.

Then this afternoon, I was coming home from the Central Square T stop, but after I had waited in the station for five minutes, an inbound train pulled in on the opposite side, and its conductor announced that the train would be standing by due to a "disabled" train at Park Street. And guess what--about half an hour passed by before an empty outbound train went zooming by, and finally my train followed.

I think I've used up my bad MBTA karma for a long while....
