...especially since I'm terrible at remembering these things, and am not likely to remember them in another few years. So I guess it's time to record 'em for my own personal edification :)
Where were you when you heard that Ronald Reagan died?I was at Mean People. Oh wait, scratch that. I was at my uncle's and read about it in the Globe. Which I guess made sense that I remembered wrong, since Mean People's the other place where I read the Globe lately.

Where were you on September 11, 2001? In class, where else? Well, I remember when Anne turned the radio up on the 9:55 van ride to campus. Then I was trying to pay attention in 6.035 lecture, but Thor was listening to the radio the whole time and keeping the rest of my 6.035 team abreast of the news.
I IM'd a high school friend who was at Cooper Union at the time, who said that he could see smoke and people yelling in the streets. Apparently everyone there had taken shelter in the school's computer lab.
Prof. Zahn gave a short speech about how class would go on despite what had just happened, and so lecture continued for the very last term that 6.013 was offered before it was revamped to include electrodynamics.
All the television sets in W20 were turned to the news. That was not normal.
Do you remember where you were when you heard Kurt Cobain had died? I can't remember if I cried when I read about his widowed bride, Courtney Love... oh wait, no, I don't remember.
Do you remember where you were when you heard TWA flight 800 went down? (July 18, 1996) No. Probably at home, reading the news.
OJ Simpson? I don't remember the chase in his Bronco or anything. But my Spanish teacher turned on the radio so we can hear the verdict already and move on with class.
